Magis Night 2013
Saturday, February 2, 2013
Last year, Magis Night broke records with over 750 attendees and net proceeds
totaling more than $850,000! This year, as we celebrate our 10th anniversary,
we are proud to honor Mr. Dick Campbell with the Magis Award for his many years
of service to Arrupe Jesuit High School and to the ideal of the magis.
Additionally, we are thrilled to present Captain Charlie Plumb as our keynote
speaker. Captain Plumb graduated from the Naval Academy at Annapolis and went
on to fly 74 successful combat missions over North Vietnam. On his 75th
mission, Plumb was shot down, captured, tortured, and imprisoned for nearly 6
years. As he will explore; in a daily routine, or in a communist prison camp,
each of us has the choice to succeed, to fail…or to become the victim of
circumstances. His inspiring message of the power of choice resonates with the
lives of the 662 current students and graduates who have chosen to make a change
in their lives through their own hard work and dedication at Arrupe Jesuit High
School, as well as the many benefactors and Corporate Work Study Program
partners who have kept the doors open over these past 10 years.
